Electrical devices & batteries – disposal information
Disposal of electrical and electronic equipment
Waste electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste. As the owner, you are legally obliged to take old devices to a collection separate from unsorted municipal waste so that they can be properly recycled.
Crossed-out wheelie bin symbol: This symbol on electrical devices means that the device must be disposed of separately from household waste at the end of its life.
Remove batteries and lamps first: Waste batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the device, as well as lamps that can be removed without being destroyed, must be separated from the device before handing it in at a collection point.
Personal data: You are responsible for deleting any personal data stored on old devices.
Return options: You can return old devices free of charge to municipal collection points (e.g. recycling centres). Retailers and manufacturers obliged to take back devices also accept them.
Batteries and rechargeable batteries
Some of our products contain or are supplied with batteries. Waste batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries. You can return them free of charge to municipal collection points, to retailers or to us, or send them to us with sufficient postage: NiZED, Reisstraße 26, 13629 Berlin.
Meaning of the symbols: The crossed-out wheelie bin means that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. The chemical symbols "Pb" (lead), "Cd" (cadmium) or "Hg" (mercury) may appear below it if the battery contains more than the respective limit of that heavy metal.
Safety: Lithium batteries can cause fires if damaged or short-circuited. Tape over the terminals before returning them and hand them in discharged where possible.
