We know that sustainable packaging is important to our customers and we strive to find the most sustainable solutions we can find.
As a first step towards greener packaging, we've recently started using bags made from recycled plastic for all apparel orders shipped from our in-house facilities. The percentage of recycled plastic per bag varies by facility, but is at least 50% for the outer (white or gray) packaging and at least 30% for the inner (clear) bags used in multi-item shipments.
PCR packaging protects the products just as well as the new plastic bags, and they look almost exactly the same. However, choosing PCR plastic over virgin is the right decision to minimize the environmental impact of plastic on our planet.
We are continually working to become more sustainable and we will continue to explore more eco-friendly packaging options in the future.
packaging waste
As of May 2021, we use recycled plastic packaging for all apparel orders shipped from our own facilities. We made this choice to minimize our impact on the environment, as recycled materials save new resources and require less energy to manufacture. Additionally, we are gradually transitioning to 90% to 100% recycled plastic packaging across North America. We have reduced the use of packaging overall and introduced triangular parcel boxes for poster orders, replacing the tubes with plastic caps.
Processing on request
Every purchase, big or small, leaves a footprint. You decide how big the footprint you leave on our planet, and we want to help you make a smart choice. One in five pieces of clothing ends up in a landfill without even being worn once. When you choose us, you choose clothes that are created at the point of order, resulting in less fabric waste than traditional manufacturing.
Is the packaging material recyclable?
Depending on the product type and fulfillment location, your products will be packaged in PCR plastic mailers, Kraft mailers, or boxes.
Our PCR plastic mailers are made from Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), which is categorized as a number 4 plastic. While this material is recyclable, it doesn't typically belong in an everyday recycling bin. Typically, it must be recycled at designated drop-off points.
We recommend that you contact your local waste disposal service provider and ask for instructions on how to sort 4 coded plastic.
Kraft envelopes and cardboard boxes are also recyclable. They can be disposed of in the waste paper bin. Remember: It's always good practice to research what type of materials go in your recycling bins. If you recycle the wrong material, it can contaminate the entire batch.
We want to keep our impact on the environment as low as possible. For this reason we participate in the dual system for packaging recycling from the green point.
So we want to make sure that we comply with the obligations of the Packaging Act and you can sell your goods to customers in Germany without any worries.
